Top 5 reasons why you should fly Singapore Airlines
Known worldwide for its incredibly high level of service, Singapore Airlines, the flagship carrier of Singapore, the Southeast Asian country, offers a plethora of options for the average traveler. In addition to industry-leading first and business class products, the carrier even guarantees that those traveling in premium economy and standard economy class will receive a significantly higher level of service compared to other major airlines.
This is reported by Simple Flying. It is noted that the airline is constantly looking to upgrade its fleet of airplanes.
Top -5 reasons to fly Singapore Airlines:
1. One of the few Airbus A380 operators
Singapore Airlines was the launch customer for the Airbus A380 superliner in 2007 and has since continued to expand its operations with the aircraft. The carrier ordered a total of 24 aircraft and eventually became the largest superliner operator in Southeast Asia, and the second largest operator overall after UAE's flagship carrier Emirates.
2. The sole operator of the A350-900ULR
Singapore Airlines is the world's only operator of the A350-900ULR, a variant of the venerable Airbus A350 family of airliners. The airline's ultra-long-range (hence ULR) aircraft, specifically designed to fly between incredibly remote destinations, are as popular as they are unique. Today, the airline operates seven of the type and serves a wide range of destinations on these aircraft, including Los Angeles, New York, Newark and San Francisco.
3. Longest flight in the world
As of November 9, 2020, Singapore Airlines Flight 23, a daily non-stop flight between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Singapore's Changi Airport (SIN), is said to be the longest flight in the world. This service utilizes the aforementioned A350-900ULR, so only premium economy and business class are available on this ultra-long route. The service departs New York at 10:30 p.m. and is scheduled to arrive (time difference) at 4:30 a.m. two days later after more than 16 hours in the air.
4. Dynamic hub
When choosing to fly Singapore Airlines, consider the carrier's awesome hub at Singapore's Changi Airport. Not only does the airline offer an incredible array of services from the airport, but there really isn't another hub in Southeast Asia with equally good connectivity. Singapore Airlines serves 75 different destinations from the Changi hub and flies to even more places with the airline's Fifth Freedom services. The airport itself is a destination of sorts, with three main terminals connected by a nature-themed attraction known as Jewel Changi Airport.
5. Fifth Freedom Flights
The airline offers flights between cities around the world. Specifically, Fifth Freedom Flights are services that provide connections between two countries where the carrier is not based or registered. As of the last peak travel season, Singapore Airlines offered eight different Fifth Freedom services, the most prominent of which is the carrier's flight between New York-JFK and Frankfurt (FRA), a flight that later connects to Singapore. Other services offered by the airline include flights from Houston to Manchester, from Hong Kong to San Francisco and from Taipei to Los Angeles.
