Puerto Pollensa, a beautiful seaside town in Majorca, has become one of the most expensive rental destinations in Spain, beloved by tourists. Renting a beachside flat here costs nearly 10 percent more than last year, according to the Majorca Daily Bulletin.

Beachfront rentals in Puerto Pollensa, Santanyi, and Ibiza are the costliest, with average weekly rates now reaching £987 (1,160 euros), up from £898 (1,055 euros) in 2023. A beachfront flat in Puerto Pollensa now costs over £2,554 (3,000 euros) per week, making it the priciest location in Spain, based on data from valuers Tecnitasa.

Located on Majorca's north coast, Puerto Pollensa has been a popular destination for tourists. The town is praised for its long sandy beaches, lined with palm trees, a variety of eateries, and excellent hotels, as noted by the abcMallorca travel guide.

Described as a family-friendly resort, Puerto Pollensa offers stunning views of Pollensa Bay, which inspired a story by Agatha Christie. Hiking enthusiasts can enjoy the Boquer Valley trail, leading to a remote cove, or the more challenging hike to the former monastery of Lluc in the Tramuntana mountains.

Golfers can choose between the nine-hole Golf Pollensa on the main road to Palma and the challenging 18-hole course at Alcanada. Holiday firm TUI describes Puerto Pollensa as Spain "the way it was meant to be," thanks to its pretty beaches, cobbled promenade, and charming old stone houses.

The town boasts two beaches: Pollensa Beach, with sun-loungers and watersports, and Albercutx Beach, a narrower, family-friendly stretch with shallow water and shade. For dramatic views, Cap de Formentor, with its huge cliffs and rugged peninsula, is just a half-hour bus ride away.

Accommodation options in Puerto Pollensa include Hotel Illa d'Or, Hoposa Hotel, and Hotel Llenaire. Eateries like Bellaverde, Terrae, family-run Zarzales, Hoposa Bahia at the Bahia Hotel, and seafood restaurant La Llonja are also popular.

Flights to Majorca are provided by Jet2, easyJet, TUI, Ryanair, British Airways, Iberia, Lauda Europe, and Qatar Airways.
