Tragedy in the Mojave Desert: a helicopter crashes, killing six people
A terrible tragedy occurred on Friday evening in the Mojave Desert, California. A helicopter carrying six people crashed, killing all of them.
The two crew members and four passengers had taken off from Palm Springs and were headed to Boulder City, Nevada. Their flight was supposed to be short, as the distance between the cities is less than 300 miles, ABC News reports.
However, something went wrong. Around 22:00 on Friday night, authorities received a report of the crash. The crash site was found east of Interstate 15, near Halloran Springs Road.
According to eyewitnesses, it was raining and snowing in the area at the time of the tragedy. This may be one of the causes of the crash, but the meteorologist is still checking this theory.
It is known that the Eurocopter EC-130 helicopter was not equipped with a flight data recorder, which makes it difficult to establish the circumstances of the crash.
The National Transportation Safety Board is currently investigating the causes of the tragedy.
