Travel expert explains why airplane blankets can be dangerous
If you are traveling on a long-haul flight and are given a blanket to keep you warm, be very careful before using it.
This was stated by travel expert Megan, who publishes posts on YouTube as Portable Professional. In one of her videos, she revealed the dangers of blankets on board airplanes.
"I just recently learned that pillows and blankets are actually reused, and they can only be clean for the first part of the day," she explained.
The travel expert also assured that flight attendants are "well aware" that there is a "high risk" that passengers will get sick on the plane due to "close contact" and "imperfect air circulation in the cabin."
"Flight attendants will be the first to admit that airplanes are not as clean as you think, as the time for cleaning between flights is often very limited," she said.
At the same time, Megan also drew travelers' attention to the fact that seat buckles and tray tables are "notoriously dirty" and strongly advised to wipe them down before use. She also said that you should consider keeping air vents open, as this can "help disperse any germs."
