A budget-friendly travel option from Manchester to London is now available for just £20, thanks to Avanti West Coast's innovative Superfare ticket scheme, which has been extended after a successful first year. This program requires passengers to be flexible with their travel times, as specific departure times are only disclosed 24 hours before the journey.

The Superfare ticket allows customers to book routes at least seven days in advance. Travelers can choose whether they prefer to depart in the morning, afternoon, or evening, but exact times are confirmed the day before the trip.

Launched in March of last year, the scheme aims to increase passenger numbers on Avanti trains. Over 50,000 passengers have taken advantage of these low-cost tickets to travel between cities such as Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, Preston, and Glasgow.

In response to the scheme's popularity, Avanti has added ten more routes in the West Midlands and Lake District. New options include travel from Rugby, Coventry, Nuneaton, Birmingham International, and Wolverhampton to London for just £9. Additionally, travelers can enjoy journeys from London to the Lake District, with tickets to Oxenholme and Penrith priced at £26, and Carlisle at £28.

Passengers can also find Superfare tickets for travel between Milton Keynes and Manchester for £18, and between Preston and Glasgow for £12. Remarkably, the price for the Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston route has remained unchanged at £20 since the scheme's inception.

Sarah Copley, Avanti West Coast's commercial director, expressed enthusiasm about the Superfare's success. She highlighted that for those who can be flexible with their travel plans, the Superfare offers an excellent opportunity to secure affordable train tickets. The extension of the Superfare benefits to more destinations underscores Avanti's commitment to making train travel more accessible and economical.

Superfare tickets have proven to be a hit among budget-conscious travelers, providing an affordable alternative for those who do not mind adjusting their schedules. This initiative is part of Avanti's broader strategy to attract more passengers and enhance the appeal of train travel across the UK.
