Two ANA flight attendants sustained injuries due to severe turbulence

On January 31, an All Nippon Airways (ANA) flight from Tokyo to Bangkok encountered severe turbulence, resulting in injuries to two flight attendants.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, carrying 257 passengers, was flying at an altitude of approximately 28,000 feet when it abruptly ascended 900 feet in one minute. Such rapid changes in altitude likely caused severe turbulence, as reported by Simple Flying.

One flight attendant tripped and suffered a broken bone, while another scratched her leg on the trolley, considered a minor injury. It can be assumed that they did not have time to fasten their seat belts and occupy their seats.

Despite the incident, the plane maintained its course and landed in Bangkok as planned. It is unknown what assistance was provided to the victims, as the company did not comment.

However, the crew members resumed their duties, and details about their injuries did not surface until two days later when the Japanese Transportation Safety Board (JTSB) confirmed the information.

The JTSB is conducting an investigation into the incident to ascertain the cause of the severe turbulence, as reported by The Aviation Herald.
