Two JetBlue passenger planes collided on the runway

Two JetBlue airplanes collided on the runway at Boston's Logan Airport. At the time, the roads were being cleared of ice and snow.

The Las Vegas-bound flight hit the horizontal stabilizer of an Airbus 321 flying to Orlando with its wing. Fortunately, no one was injured, but both flights were cancelled, the Independent reports.

Passenger Mary Menna, who was on a flight to the Super Bowl, said she felt a "little jolt."

"You felt it, you felt a jolt, but it wasn't extreme, and then everyone just (gasped) and we looked out the window and saw that we had come very close to another plane and actually ripped off part of its wing," the eyewitness said.

Menna also noted that her plane had "structural damage" to the wing, but it remained intact.

A JetBlue spokesperson said that both aircraft would be taken out of service for repairs.

"Safety is a priority for JetBlue, and we will work to determine how and why this incident occurred," the spokesperson said.
