Two Thorpe Park rides have closed their doors forever
Thrill-seekers may be saddened to hear that Thorpe Park has announced the closure of two iconic rides, the Black Mirror Maze and Slammer, which immersed visitors in a whirlwind of entertainment.
The first attraction was based on the cult TV series Black Mirror, taking daredevils into an intricate maze from which they had to "escape or go crazy." Unfortunately, the doors of this maze have closed forever, leaving only pleasant memories for those who managed to experience it, The Scottish Sun writes.
The park's season ticket holders asked on Facebook whether the attraction would be open this year but received a negative response.
The park replied, "The doors to this twisted, sensory-challenging maze have closed at the end of our 2023 season."
Slammer, the majestic fly swatter that lifted daredevils 75 feet and threw them into freefall, has also ceased operations.
While fans are mourning the loss of the rides, the park is preparing new thrilling entertainment featuring innovative technology in 2024.
