The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has updated the UAE visa exemption tables. Now citizens of 87 countries can enter the UAE without a prior visa.

To visit the country for tourism purposes, simply log in to the official website and view the updated information page on visa exemptions for travelers holding ordinary passports issued by different countries. This was reported by gulftoday.ae.

According to the table of preliminary visa exemptions for travelers with ordinary passports on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, citizens of 110 countries need a preliminary visa to enter the UAE.

Citizens of countries who wish to view the list and names of countries that are visa exempt or require a visa prior to entry can visit this website to view the updated list of visa exemptions for travelers with regular passports.

They can also view the details of visa requirements on the official website of the Federal Authority for Identification, Nationality, Customs, and Port Security and contact the airline for more information.

The UAE Digital Government (UAE DGov) also clarified that GCC nationals do not need an entry visa or a sponsor to visit the country. However, they can enter the country upon presentation of a passport issued by a Gulf country or an identity card upon arrival at any point of entry.

The UAE General Government has encouraged individuals abroad to use this link to view the list of citizens who do not require prior arrangements to obtain an entry visa to the UAE.

Upon arrival, they can obtain an entry visa valid for 30 days, which can be extended for another 10 days, the statement said.

They can also view the list of countries whose citizens are not required to make prior arrangements for an entry visa to the UAE, it added, noting that they can obtain a visa valid for 90 days after arrival.

Citizens of the Republic of India who hold ordinary passports valid for at least six months from the date of arrival and hold a visitor visa/green card issued by the United States or a residence visa issued by the UK and EU countries valid for at least six months can obtain an entry visa upon arrival valid for 14 days and apply for an extension for a further 14 days.

As for citizens requiring prior entry authorization, the UAE General Government has indicated that they need an entry permit that must be issued by the sponsor prior to arrival in the country, unless they are listed in the categories eligible for entry without a visa or can obtain a visa upon arrival.

The entry permit that must be obtained from the General Authority for Residence and Foreigners depends on the purpose of the visit.
