A United Airlines Boeing 737-900ER experienced a significant incident on August 24, when it lost a tire during takeoff from Denver International Airport (DEN) en route to Seattle. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed the event, which involved United Airlines flight UA759.

Blown Tire Incident

According to the FAA's Aviation Safety Information Analysis and Sharing (ASIAS) report, the aircraft, registered as N37427, suffered a blown landing gear tire during its takeoff phase. The report, released on August 26, did not specify the number of passengers or crew members on board.

Safe Landing in Seattle

Despite the blown tire, the aircraft successfully climbed to a cruising altitude and continued its flight to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). Flight data shows that the aircraft briefly entered a holding pattern at 26,000 feet before descending into Seattle. The plane landed safely at 17:43 local time and taxied to the gate without declaring an emergency.

Post-Incident Status

Following the incident, the 737-900ER has remained grounded at SEA, with no further flights recorded since the tire blowout. The aircraft, delivered to Continental Airlines in 2008 and later transferred to United Airlines after the merger, has accumulated over 49,358 flight hours as of April 30, 2024.
