Vietnam Airlines has been recognized as one of the top 5 most punctual airlines in the Asia Pacific region as of April 2024, according to Cirium, a leader in aviation analytics. The ranking is based on the percentage of flights arriving within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, with Vietnam Airlines achieving an impressive 81.85% on-time arrival rate from 11,108 flights.
This achievement is particularly notable given the increased demand for air travel, which has put significant pressure on airport infrastructure, especially during the national holiday period from April 30 to May 1, 2024. Additionally, the airline has been coping with aircraft shortages due to global engine recalls.
Vietnam Airlines joins the ranks of other prestigious airlines such as All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines, Peach Aviation, and AirAsia in this recognition. This acknowledgment places Vietnam Airlines among the elite carriers in the region.
Dang Anh Tuan, Executive Vice President of Vietnam Airlines, emphasized the airline's commitment to safety and service quality, noting that improved on-time performance is a key aspect of operational excellence. He highlighted the airline’s strategic efforts, including reasonable flight scheduling, proactive coordination with authorities, and effective resource management, as pivotal to maintaining high punctuality rates.
Earlier in the year, Cirium's "The On-Time Performance Review 2023" also listed Vietnam Airlines among the top 10 most punctual airlines in the Asia Pacific. This continued recognition reflects the airline's dedication to enhancing customer satisfaction through operational efficiency and high service standards.
