When checking in, you can always see neatly folded business cards with phone numbers and addresses at the front desk. Many guests ignore them, even though the information on a small piece of cardboard can be very useful.

In the age of technology, all contacts can be found on the Internet, but what if you are left without access to the network? According to The Scottish Sun, a tourist on Reddit gave useful advice on how not to get lost in a foreign city.

While travelling, your phone may run out of power or shut down due to malfunctions. Worst-case scenarios include losing it or having it stolen.

In any case, you should make sure you know the exact address of your hotel. A business card that experienced tourists keep with them when walking in a foreign city can help.

A tourist wrote, "If I'm staying at a hotel, I always take a business card with the hotel address. If my phone's battery is running low, I can show it to the taxi driver and he will take me back to the hotel. This is especially useful if you don't understand the language."

It can also help if you're staying at a chain hotel, the hotels of which are many in the same city. In addition, you may need to clarify something with the staff or ask them to check the room for various reasons.
