Sand and incredible sunsets over the waves – such delightful ocean scenery and beautiful South Florida beaches attract not only travelers in search of a great vacation but also secondary home buyers. Florida's coastal real estate market has always been in demand, and in recent years the demand has become really hot. Popularity among seekers of prime housing in the Sunshine State has reached such heights that its prices in popular coastal destinations have reached cosmic values.

But that doesn't mean that dreams of a country home in Florida should be put out of your mind forever. On the contrary, Realtor.com shows that it is possible to find suitable options in the most elite areas of the state. For example, one of the most affordable cities to buy a home in 2022 is located between exclusive Palm Beach and Miami. Here, you can find good options to purchase at a lower price.

The small town of Deerfield Beach in particular is a case in point. According to Realtor.com, in June 2023, the median home price here was $270,000. While the average price of a house as of the 1st quarter of 2023 in the U.S., according to Motley Fool, a company specializing in financial services, was 436.8 thousand dollars. In Florida, that figure reached $383,000.

According to Realtor.com executive news editor Claire Trapasso, Deerfield Beach could be called Florida's hidden gem, as it combines the benefits of coastal living with home prices well below the state and national averages. And when it comes to the range in the Deerfield Beach real estate market, it has excellent variety. There are more expensive options right by the water, and further inland away from the shore are also good but less expensive homes.

Deerfield Beach now has more than 550 homes for sale in 14 neighborhoods, ranging from the most affordable to the most luxurious, with price ranges from $37,500 to $6.2 million. This wide selection is able to meet the preferences and budgets of a variety of buyers.

This sunny town has about 86 thousand residents. It is popular for vacationing due to not only its coastal access, but also its variety of entertainment, resort amenities for travelers of different ages, and natural attractions. The South Florida coastline, frankly, has no shortage of great beaches at all. But the beaches of Deerfield Beach stand out from most of the rest with their Blue Wave status. This certification is awarded by the National Clean Beaches Coalition and means that the beach meets all Blue Wave criteria for cleanliness, health, and safety.

If you're considering where to buy a beach house in Florida and are leaning toward Deerfield Beach, you'll be pleased to know that there are plenty of things to do and see here, in addition to the crystal clear ocean waters and limitless opportunities that the beaches and waves provide. The park includes a lake that features the longest water ski run in the country and a marina with boats available for rent. The second of Quiet Waters Park's main locations is the Splash Adventure water park. Fishing is available on several of the park's lakes. A tent campground is set up for on-site lodging. The park also has sports playgrounds, bike and jogging paths, a skate park, and a large playground, as well as grilling areas.
